T. Neal Porter

(1901 – 1955)

Thomas Neal Porter was born in 1901. In 1923 he started working at the Austin public schools as a manual training teacher. In 1929 he was appointed Assistant to the Superintendent of the Austin public schools. In 1942 he became the business manager, and in 1951 he was appointed the Assistant Superintendant. Eventually he became the chief business executive.

He was joined Freemasonry at Belton Lodge No. 166 in Belton, Texas. Brother Porter was initiated on March 21, 1925, passed on October 12, 1925 and raised on February 20, 1916. He affiliated with Austin Lodge No. 12 on July 5, 1930. His other Masonic organizations included the Austin Scottish Rite, and the Ben Hur Shrine.

He died on April 2, 1955.
